Parametric study of a horizontal axis wind turbine with similar characteristics to those of the Villonaco wind power plant

<p class="JAREAbstract">The present paper focuses on the selection of parameters that maximize electrical energy production a horizontal axis wind turbine using Python programming language. The study takes as reference turbines Villonaco field in Ecuador. For this aim, Blade Element Momentum (BEM) theory was implemented, to define rotor geometry and power curve. Furthermore, speeds were analyzed Weibull probability distribution most probable speed 10.50 m/s. results compared with mean annual Villonaco’s validate model. Turbine height, rated radius selected determine influence generated energy. Individual increment cause significant increase produced. While turbine’s height reduces by 0.88%.</p>
